A classic bright, lightly perfumed and succulent Margaret River Shiraz, characterised by its medium weight and delicious structure. This wine is an easy drinking, delectable style with light red fruit and a fine tannin profile.
A cool, high-humidity start to vintage meant we benefited greatly from precise canopy management to mitigate disease pressure and optimise sun exposure for the fruit. The success of this program enabled us to harvest ripe, clean fruit with slightly lower alcohol and great natural acidity. Mild conditions allowed for extended ripening, creating beautiful aromatics and fine ripe tannins in our reds. Marri Blossom was non-existent throughout the region in 2019, resulting in the largest netting program ever seen at Vasse Felix to protect the fruit from bird damage. Overall, a labour intensive vintage that resulted in beautiful quality fruit.

This is delicious. Juicy, bright and vibrant, with ripe tannins and good length of flavour. All things in place, and pretty irresistible at the price.

Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate this lean, dry blend showing plum, spice rack and Old Jamacian chocolate. Nicely structured, with plenty of earthy tanins.
'juicy and fruit-forward'
Vasse Felix Margaret River Shiraz, juicy and fruit-forward with slightly stewed wild raspberry, cassis, black cherry and plum with oaky vanilla spice. Supple, with rounded, harmonious tannins and saline minerality. Gains complexity with significant aeration. Good. Match with grilled lamb chops and harissa.

In many ways this challenging vintage has suited this style of wine rather well. It’s resulted in a less opulent style, although there’s still plenty of fruit intensity, but there is also a dry savoury dried herby character that adds a degree of sophistication to balance the primary fruit. Excellent balance and poise with a neat underlay of oak.
